How to register with ZTCC?

  • Any patient with end stage organ failure approaches any of the above listed hospitals. This can be done by filling a form of ZTCC, which is made available at every hospital by the physician (nephrologist, hepatelogist, cardiologist) or surgeon (urologist, hepatic surgeon, cardiac surgeon) working at that hospital.  As transplantation surgery is purely recognized hospitals responsibility the form must come through hospital administration only.
  • Patient may take dialysis from any center but registration must be through the hospitals only.

  • As per the guideline of Govt. of Maharashtra patient can get registered through more than one hospitals and ZTCC endorses this as cadaver transplant in a patient friendly programme.

  • The duly filled form are sent to ZTCC office the details of which are fed to computer

  • For scoring and ranking a computer programme is developed so that there is no human bias.

  • The list is frozen at 5.00 pm on the last date (30th or 31st) of each month.

  • By 2nd or 3rd of next month the list is updated and three hard copies of entire city waiting list of each blood group for all organs are done.  Two copies go to the ZTCC coordinators who distribute the organs as per priority list.  One copy remains in office file.

  • Each hospital gets list of their waiting patients along with their ranks in city waiting list along with a note to individual hospital to check their list and inform back ZTCC office if there are any errors by 15th of same month so that corrections can be done and re-ranking can be done.

  • In any of the hospitals where consent for organ retrieval is obtained it is immediately informed to ZTCC office / coordinators / Secretary.  The coordinator as per the ranking in the list informs the respective hospitals the name of the recipient to be called for transplant. In the event of any mishap like recipient non-contactibility, medically unfit, death etc the organ is allocated next patient as per his ranking.

  • If same patient is registered at multiple hospitals it is patients right to choose his hospital.

  • ZTCC does not take any deposit for registration.  Neither it guarantees organ to every waiting patient at this stage.  The only guarantee of ZTCC is it will attempt to reach out every needy recipient and is doing fair distribution without considering sex, age, economical status, social political prominence etc.

  • ZTCC charges the hospital, which has taken kidney, organ from other hospital Rs. 30,000/- as service charges.
